Darkness

Written by Grace

It holds me,

But it cannot contain me

It touches me,

But I will never feel it

My heart will pound,

But never fast enough

It shows around me,

Yet I fell no a thing

It is always around me,

From the darkest places of misery,

To the bottom of a very twisted heart.

I agree. Sad stories, I have found, are what all of my favourite books are. The pain has a complicated feeling to it, and I think the beauty is that in the end it usually turns out fine, but its paradoxical. It makes you feel great for the characters in the story. Cornelia Funkes books are like that, especially the Reckless books. There are so many people that are suffering, but when you look at it, you all see how human it is. I think thats why sad books are so beautiful.

Beautiful job! As Meggie said in Inkheart, "Why [are] sad stories often so beautiful?"

I like the tone of the poem. I wonder what the poem is about? Are you trying to describe darkness? It is a nice poem.
