Dragon cake for the queuers
And then there was dragon cake. One sweet, one salty. The perfect dessert to go with a reading from Dragon Rider. On 14 July, Cornelia let the dragons fly around the Anselm Feuerbach Hall of the Kunsthalle Karlsruhe. And after the reading, there was dragon cake. To sweeten queuing time at Cornelia’s book signing. Some of Cornelia’s little fans were even patient enough to stay still for a photo.

Kim did not use to like reading, but when she found "Inkheart", she discovered the pleasure of books. That’s why she brought her copy to Cornelia’s signing.
Max got his book "Young Werewolf" signed. He also brought a werewolf pendant he made by himself. His actual favourite is "Igraine the Brave", but he left it at home that day. Nonetheless, Max finds the werewolf-story quite exciting and would really like to be able to turn into a wolf himself.
These two little ladies are Sarah (on the left) and Maja (on the right). Both brought their "Dragon Rider" books to the reading. "Dragon Rider", "Potilla", "Young Werewolf" - Sarah can’t decide yet, which of these she likes most. Maja got "Dragon Rider" for her birthday and is currently reading it. Cornelia’s book "The Thief Lord" is also one of her favorites.
"Die wilden Huehner und das Glueck der Erde (C.H.I.X. - Happiness is a horse - the third book of the C.H.I.X series has not been translated into English yet) is Emely’s favourite book of the C.H.I.X series, particularly because she rides and loves horses.
Luca already very much liked "Dragon Rider", but its sequel "The Griffin’s Feather" is even more thrilling. He is now the proud owner of a signed copy.
"Dragon Rider" is Romy’s very first book by Cornelia. Romy liked Cornelia’s reading and is quite happy that she signed her book. What an exciting day.
At school, Julian’s class discussed Cornelia’s books. His mother has a Kindle and Julian has started reading "Inkheart" on it. He likes it very much.
"Dragon Rider" is Daniel’s favourite story by Cornelia, because he loves fantasy stories. The audiobook of its sequel "The Griffin’s Feather" is already sitting on Daniel’s shelf waiting to be listened to.
Berat does not like short stories. "The Thief Lord" story is Berat’s first book by Cornelia. It is not short at all and full of fantasy.
Gamze brought "The Griffin’s Feather". It is her very first book by Cornelia. She finds it quite exciting and is looking forward to reading "Dragon Rider" very soon.
Kim (on the left) und Anna (on the right) couldn’t decide and so they brought along two books to the signing. Kim chose "Inkheart" and "Saving Mississippi". Mississippi had been her favourite book for years. As for "Inkheart", Kim recently found the book on her shelf. She once started reading it, but was too busy with schoolwork, so she did not finish it. Well, summer holidays are just around the corner…
Anna can fully identify with "Igraine, the Brave", because as a little girl she also dreamed of being a knight rather than a princess. Besides, she was taken with the books of magic. "The Thief Lord" is one of her favourite books, because it was the first book that made her cry. The story about children who desperately want to be adults and adults who want to become children again touched her.
Jonah had Cornelia sign a copy of "Die Glücksfee" for his mother Christine. It is one of her most favourite books, because she knows how it feels to be stuck in a bad mood. Then she really could do with a lucky fairy like Pistazia. She can take the little book everywhere she goes, and she loves the illustrations by Sybille Hein.
Luisa got "Emma and the Blue Genie" for her First Communion. It has become her favourite book.
Sila brought "Potilla". The uncommon name struck her right away and she was curious to read the book.
Stephanie had been wanting to read "The Thief Lord" for quite some time. On the day of the reading she finally bought the book. Off to Venice!
"Saving Mississippi" is Emilia’s first book by Cornelia. She finds it exciting, interesting, and funny. As you can tell by the picture, Emilia was quite happy about Cornelia’s visit to Karlsruhe.
Best friends like the C.H.I.X.: Gamze, Sila and Stephanie asked us to take another photo of them together.
Thanks to all of you who took part, for your openness and for sharing your joy
