Hannah Zieger

My name is Hannah Zieger and I live near Lake Constance in Germany. In my free time I of course love to write, but I also ride my bike a lot and am a passionate reader.

What brought you to writing?

I started to write short stories in elementary school. I always had a lot of imagination and at some point, I started to put my ‘mind movie’ into words. I also always read a lot, which motivated me to tell stories myself.

How did you come to take part in Clara’s Prize?

A German teacher put me forward for a writing competition through which I met many other young writers. We are still in touch and exchange information regularly. That’s how I found out about Clara’s Prize and I knew right away that I wanted to take part.

How did you like your time at Fraggina? Did you find inspiration there?

The time at Fraggina was wonderful. The landscape as well as the quiet and special atmosphere had a very inspiring effect on me that continues to resonate in me. There was a lot to discover, both large and small things that inspired new stories.

What did you take home with you?

I took back home with me a backpack full of exciting and beautiful experiences, impressions, inspiration, memories and strips of fabric. We had a workshop where we used plants to print on textiles. The resulting fabrics still fascinate me today and remind me of the lovely time at Cornelia’s in Tuscany. I’m very grateful to have had the chance to experience all of this.
