Miljan Ehlers

Moin, I’m Miljan, 19 years old and from Hamburg, which you could probably guess based on the Moin. I’m working for a PR agency right now and am supporting the candidate Dr Roland Heintze (CDU) in the German parliamentary election (2025). Starting this summer, I want to go to university. Where and what I’ll study is being finalized. One of my life goals is to publish a novel or non-fiction book. I would also like to one day be a member of the German Parliament for the CDU.
What brought you to writing?
My motivation for writing is that it helps me to relax on the one hand, and on the other gives me the opportunity to process my thoughts and experiences in a lasting way.

How did you decide to take part in Clara’s Prize?
I was told about the prize by my German teacher, motivated by my interest in literature and the decision was finalized through the help of my friend Louis. I wanted to see whether my writing might also be worthwhile to other people.

How did you like your time at Fraggina?
Besides the enchanting people I really enjoyed not having to be contactable for a bit. Fraggina gave me the opportunity to find my way back to myself a little and order my thoughts and feelings. The pleasant temperature and the pool are of course also nice to have. The delicious communal meals are still very present in my mind and the workshop about plant dying showed me a whole new aspect of textile work.
Were you inspired there?
The conversations with Cornelia and the other recipients of the award really moved my work along. They helped me to realize that I have been making good progress on the content of my biggest project so far, but that I lost sight of my target audience.
What did you take home with you?
Besides the English edition of ‘Thief Lord’ including a cool dedication and a small drawing, I also brought a lot of joy back home with me. To broaden your experience, get to know new people and make memories that stay with you forever are the most important things for young people.
