Life 3.0
Written by Pashynn F.
Preface
I wrote this poem after a friend of my younger sister committed suicide. Which written like that sounds harsh, and it was. I didn’t know her friend personally myself, but I still was effected by it. This poem was written during that time. I usually write my poetry when life, emotions or circumstances hit the hardest. This is one of those poems.
Life is so precious,
Once erased, forever gone,
Never to come back,
No matter how long.
We’ll never be able
To put a new one in,
After taking the old one out.
It’s just not a thing.
Life is a flame,
Just floating in the air,
And if it blows out,
There’s nothing to light there.
But that’s not all,
We’re more than that,
Such complicated characters,
More than any kind of plait.
Think of who you are,
Think of it more.
A world of memories
And emotions we are.
The world is so full of it,
All the strife.
But there’s a world
In EVERY human life.
What is life?
Well to put it one way.
Easily given,
Easily taken away.
The earth’s most precious thing,
That is life.
More precious than diamonds,
Any weapon or knife.

Leave a commentYa we defiantly lost a lot. The tech age mostly sucks, but there's some good parts, like being able to talk to people from a distance.
Yeah. Sort of stinks that poet laureates are a thing of the past. Bards and minstrels as well. We lost a lot with the rise of the technological age I think.
Actually, I would if there are still kings who have personal poets?
Thanks Kaleb
Wow! That was beautiful. I especially love that final stanza about weapons and diamonds. Poet laureate. Keep working at it and you'll be writing poems for the king.
