Preface
I wrote this just over a year ago now {now being Dec 1st 2024} and, ya, honestly reading again after a while {cringe}. And this is the way shorter way more basic version. The longer one may never see the light of day. lol. I thought about it quite a while before deciding to post this one {for what I feel may, or may not be, self explanatory reasons} So ya, enjoy, cringe and comment please. P.S. No, I never actually showed him the poems. And no, we never ended up being a thing. lol.
It’s like dude,
Don’t want to be rude,
But these lines are crude….
Brown hair, brown eyes,
Smile of fire and ice.
I think you’re so nice.
I think about you every night,
My shining armour knight,
What a plight.
Please hear,
I’ve wished you near,
For almost a year.
You don’t seem to see,
I only love thee,
There’s no stopping me.
And what is true,
I love you,
I really do.

I’m turning seventeen in April, so sixteen at the moment. Not gonna lie I was a bit worried that you might have been younger, like 13-14 or something but I was pretty sure you weren’t. lol So not REALLY surprised. Happy Birthday!
(I’m already at the point where Birthday’s can be kinda meh or “darn, slow down life and let me catch up” lol. You?)
Well, I hope this bit of information doesn't surprise but I just turned 19 two days ago. How old are you?

That's a sweet little poem. The rhyme meter works much better than any poem I could write. You never shared it with him? It'd be funny to post the reaction at the end.
I tell you though, if I had someone write me something like this when I was in school I wouldn't know what to do with myself.
