Books

Good books are like portals into another world,

One where you can see the kingdom’s flags unfurled.

The real world grows dim,

As if a fog creeps in.

The book grows so real,

Hope and fear you feel.

And if an evil character lives to do evil another day,

You fear the harm on them he could lay.

Lives of many people seem to be a mystery,

Sometimes you, and others in that world, wonder about their history.

And even if you read the books ten times or more,

Good books can’t and never will be a bore.
