Poem about Inkheart
Written by Emilia Tanti Rigos
It was a normal life for Meggie,
Until it all began
When one night at her window
On the street she saw a man.
On the hunt to find a book,
Not knowing where to look
But in the end Dustfinger manages
And the book and Mo he took.
What a traitor!
What a liar!
That nasty man of fire
Betraying Meggie and her aunt
His face scarred and gaunt.
At Capricon’s village,
They found out
Something Meggie hadn’t known
Something Mo had never shown.
Now Capricorn has
The man who can do wonders
With the words
>From books he ponders.
Money, Money
Fire, Fire
All things read out
Royal attire.
At last, they are free
But who should Mo need?
Someone that Dustfinger
doesn’t want to meet.
One morning
Mo and Elinor gone
In Meggie’s eyes
Fear shone.
Basta the baddie
Along with his laddie
Capture again
Both Writer and Meggie.
Let’s stay together
Stick with me
This story will end well
You’ll see.
On the way back
To that accursed place
Fenoglio sees
The sad look on Megg’s face.
While in their cage
They are both in rage
They had no other choice
But to turn the page.
While Meggie reads
In front of the crowd
The Shadow appears
Without a sound.
All was well,
Like a magic spell
All Baddies in Hell,
Even Cockerel.
I told you my friends,
That this would’ve been faster
If you had believed,
In happily ever after.

Leave a commentWow! The poem really could be at the back of the book! Your poem truely is like a blurb or a little re-telling of a book! It’s a wonderful poem and I wish I could write like that!
Wow, this was really good. Almost like a miniature telling of the entire story in verse. Very well executed. Hope you continue writing poetry, you have a gift.
Superb!
Awesome
