Naemi Louisa Schmitz Clara's Prize
My name is Naemi Schmitz, I'm 19 years old and live in a small village called Kürnberg in the Black Forest.
I'm finishing my Abitur in 2025 and afterwards I will do a year of ecological volunteering in Tanzania.
Besides writing, horseback riding is my big passion. I love strolling through nature and working together with a horse. But I'm also always up for game night with friends.
What brought you to writing?
I discovered my passion for writing in elementary school when I wrote short stories and it hasn't let me go since.

How did you come to take part in Clara’s prize?
I found out about Clara’s Prize through my sister, who knew about my passion and sugested I participate. When I found out about the history of Clara’s Prize and who its patron is, I decided to participate.

How did you like your time at Cornelia’s in Tuscany? Did you find inspiration there?
My time at Cornelia’s was more than special. She and her place gave me confidence in my dream to continue to write in the future. They gave me like-minded people and a space where I could grow, learn and dream.

What did you take home with you?
Finally, I went home with new stories in my suitcase, new courage and new friends, and with a promise to return one day.
